Stephen Lazarus, J.D.

With over two decades of dedicated consulting experience, Stephen Lazarus stands as a seasoned expert in education policy, compliance, and governance matters. Stephen's impact is evident through his proven track record, having sucessfully delivered policy-related consulting services to over 40 colleges, universities, and K-12 schools. Notably, he has facilitated the updating of more than 25 higher education Faculty Handbooks. 

Stephen founded Stephen Lazarus, LLC, in January 2024, following a 16-year tenure at Stevens Strategy, where he served as a Senior Consultant and led the Institutional Wide Policy Manual division. Prior to this, Stephen contributed his expertise as a consultant with Higher Education Executive Associates and practiced law in South Florida, focusing on healthcare law and insurance defense litigation.  He holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America and a B.A. from Loyola University, New Orleans.
